Good Morning... Just chillin' like a villian today. I might go down and see POTG and Carrozzi-Girl, that's if the General goes as well. But tonight is Sushi-Licious. Should be pretty good. Bah, anyways, I got laundry and whatever else to do.

Dave and I went to the...Nutty Brown Cafe for lunch. Black penile jokes aside, this place has the rustic charm of, let's say, a rusty nail. Hoisted outside the faux-19th century frontier is a huge Neon Cowboy "hooping and a hollerin" as my boss says.

Restaurant Review:

When you and your date park your car in the mud parking lot adjacent to the gravel, you will be amazed at how much everything resembles the set from 'Little House on the Prairie', especially the LCD Register, waterproof speakers and of course: The Crab Claw Game (More on that later, readers!). The wait staff is exactly what it is, a staff of people that make you wait.

When you and your date are promptly escorted to your table by the biker chick, please remember The Nutty Brown Cafe does check your ethnicity before placing you in the corner. Most men of 'brown' coloration are typically put near the kitchen, where the applications are, while for those brothers of color, expect to be seated somewhere near the exit. WASP? Shoot, the sky's the limit!

The food is impeccable. Like all the finest cafe's of Paris, you know the cuisine will be of the highest caliber when you hear nothing but talk of "roach baits" and "fly paper" being emitted from the kitchen area. A nice glass of wine? Nutty Brown has that, in spades. Choose from their "Thunderbird" or "Franzia" list and you will surely agree that Detroit is the Napa Valley of Michigan. During my last visit, my lunch guest, David, had the Cedar Valley burger. Juicy, tender, nicely crisp from the grill but alas, the patty was cold. Is this how the French eat it? I had the Number 4 Grilled Chicken Sandwich, named after a Swiss mountain range, which was delicious. It was all I could ask for: The Meat was cooked and the vegetables appeared to be fresh.

The Nutty Brown Cafe prides itself in old tradition and contemporary cuisine. You and your date can have some excitement playing The Crab Claw Game. Named after the great Portugese Navigator, The Crab Claw Game resembles a "Toy Crane" machine, but with an enclosed aquarium full of crabs. Use your imagination to figure out what the prize is! Lot's of fun when you're in a committed relationship on a budget.

For dessert, quickly asked for the check, because nothing is as sweet as seeing The Nutty Brown Cafe in your rear view mirror. Bon Apetite!

Bah.. The weekend is here, but I have to study. Tomorrow night is a night of Sushi-Licious proportions. I can't get enough of that stuff, but please, no raw stuff. Cooked only! Stuff taste likes slime raw. Yeeeech.

Song of the Day:
1.) Ryan Adams - Touch, Feel & Lost.

What a night. I was ready to chow down on my dinner when I get a call from The General saying his girlfriend's car just went through low water and stalled. So I go over there to take her and little Nicky back to their apartment, but her dad comes by to assess the damage. The Lowdown: Car's screwed for the night. I take them all back to their apartment, but that takes an enduring hour and some odd minutes to get back, with the flooding and all. I missed E.R. Noah Wiley was gonna hook up with that one chick that came back. There's always syndication in a few years.

The Classes have been cancelled. Due to the Texas Flood. Woohoo! Unfortunately I have to go pick up The General and his family. He went through a low water ditch and his car stalled.

Torential downpour! It's raining cats, dogs and any other four legged mammal outside right now. You know Mopac is gonna be as congested as The General at a cheese fair. Sucks! I think I might not try to make it to class tonight because of...uhhh...Traffic. Yeah. That'll be cool, my favorite shows come on tonight: WEST WING and ER. It's almost like crack. HZA's top favorite shows as of now:

1.) Old Simpsons reruns -- The last two-three seasons sucks!
2.) Everybody Loves Raymond - Ray Romano is too funny.
3.) Smallville - Bad Dawson's Creek meets Superman! WAHOO.
4.) West Wing - One of the best written shows in my opinion, next to Xena: Warrior Princess.
5.) E.R. - No more Tracy Gold look-a-likes, but still a good show. Luca is cool too.
6.) The Daily Show - Jon Stewart rocks.
7.) King of the Hill - Bobby Hill: You are my hero.
8.) The Gilmour Girls - Ha! Just kidding...

Another song of the day! I remember when I bought this album way back in my Senior Year in High School. It's Wilco's Outtamind, Outtasight from their Being There album. Great song, great memories..sort of.

Second Helping, Song of the Day:
1.) Wilco - Outtamind, Outtasight.

I was at McDonald's yesterday for lunch. I got the McRib, and wondered exactly which rib from which animal the meat patty was supposed to resemble. I can't think of any animal on earth who would have a section of their rib stucture that looks anything close to the McRib. I understand that it's a meat mold that the Mickey D's uses to form that shape, but other than for aesthetics, why the hell would you make it look like a package of hot dogs? I finished it up with a cheeseburger.

Ryan Adams explosion. I'm gonna do a full length H-Dog review of the Ryan Adam CD: Gold here real soon. Thus the song of the day.

Song of the Day:

I think I ace'd the exam. Eat it General. Actually, he probably did good as well. Just finished Beautiful Girls, man what a great movie. "Stay cool man, stay cool forever.." SWEEEET.

Shouldn't of drunk those beers before the test. I think that says it all. I'll let you guys know how it went.

Everybody wants to lend some kind of helping hand,
when you're crouched in that ditch,
singing hymns
of the walls around Jericho.

They dig you up and ground you down,
a drinking glass mouthed
and marred by lipstick;
a billfold with folded pictures.

Try not to let them tell you otherwise!
Small, tiny spirits disguised
as rope to tug on.
Oh what a waste they wonder.

Watched some Beautiful Girls last night.. I swear, last night was a good night. Not only did I THINK I aced my C++ Exam after missing nearly 5 classes between the last test and this one, but Smallville was funny/cheesey as hell to watch on top of finally picking up that Beautiful Girl's DVD and Ryan Adams Disc. I watched as much as I could last night before I passed out...what a great film. I think my favorite is Michael Rappaport and the Uma Thurman scene....hahahaahaha. Whoooooooooooooo... Can't wait to watch the rest of it.

Man, Superman got Superchumped tonight. Smallville, that's what i'm talking about. Superman was about to hook up with Lana Lang at the Radiohead concert, but unbeknownst to him, the writers had better plans. He had to stop freezerburn from killing his good friend, Chloey (however the hell you spell it). Sounds like a Mike Todd after school special. One thing I don't understand, so maybe somebody can explain this to me: If Lana Lang had that Kryptonite necklace in the first episode, how come she didn't turn into some monster? When does Superman get his costume? Where's The Green Arrow?

After the show, I headed to Hasting's near the edge of the known universe (Round Rock) and bought Beautiful Girls (used, but still brand new..don't know how that happened) on DVD and the new Ryan Adam's disc. I couldn't find his CD so I asked the girl up at the counter if she could search the inventory for it. She put in Bryan Adams instead. "Sorry, we don't have a Bryan Adams 'Gold' album in stock. It show's here there isn't one." then I said "No, it's RYAN Adams." then she replied, "You mean that guy from the Robin Hood Soundtrack, right?". That just brought back memories of my older brother and Karaoke. Anyways, I walked off and found it myself.

Smallville. Freaking Poyfather has me watching this show. For all you people out there, it's Dawson's Creek meets Mike Todd (aka Wally Champs) sexual superhero fantasies. It's a show about a teenage Superman and his universe. Poyfather had the first episode recorded and there were some cheesy parts, but overall a very enjoyable show. Tonight, Super--err I mean CLARK KENT tracks down somebody that freezes people. I would say Mr. Freeze, but that's Batman's villian (not that I know or anything..). Word on the street has it Bruce Wayne (aka Batman) will make an appearance some time. Yeah, we're losers.

In regards to the 'HOBBY' post below, my Mexican friend Dave sent me this: "How about male make-overs. You did such a good job on yourself. See what you can do with a blank canvas like the Kyle Brothers." Hahahahahaha...

Need a new hobby. I think i've exhausted every hobby that i've ever had growing up. Computers, Stereo Equipment, Reading, Writing, Drawing, Painting...they're all boring now. I've thought about microwaving crystal meth in my spare time, but when does anybody have any spare time nowadays? If anybody has any wacked out suggestions, give me an email. Just a reminder, I don't play on-line role playing games, no model trains, planes or automobiles but will consider farming Emu's or Ostriches. First person to give me something decent, i'll reward you with my respect.

My boss and his geeky model planes. Yesterday he was telling me that he was setting up his homepage on his Austin Road Runner account, but they only gave him like 3 Megs. So I told him he could have a home on PGBCO.COM. If you want to see what Middle Aged Men are into, click this.

Work is getting slow today, so I think i'm gonna chill and do some homework. The General and I have that wacky C++ Instructor tonight, I'm not sure if there's going to be a test, but better be ready than sorry.

Early shot at the Song of the Day. Woke up kinda early, but that just means an earlier song of the day! Another one from Ryan Adams. I'm gonna go to Hastings out in the fringes of society (Round Rock) after School tonight to go pick up Beautiful Girls on DVD and the aforementioned Ryan Adams new disc.

Song of the Day:
1.) Ryan Adams - Gonna Make You Love Me.

Slow evening. Just came home and studied all night long before I headed to class. I've been on this weekend long search for Beautiful Girls on DVD, but I swear, nobody in Austin stocks it except Suncoast (full price) and the Hastings on the edge of oblivion (Round Rock). No Best Buy's, Circuit City's, Borders, Wherehouse or Barnes and Nobles have it anywhere (trust me I checked everywhere). I was going to buy it online, but figured it'd be almost like a mini-vacation to drive out to Round Rock, hell I might even check out the Antique Mall (whatever..!). I think i'm gonna go eat some Sushi this weekend with some friends, should be RAW-FISH-A-LICIOUS. Actually, the last night I was in Cali. I ate all the 'cooked' sushi and got drunk enough to try the raw stuff. It tasted like slime, don't eat it! I liked the cooked eel, it tastes like marinated chicken without the Colonel's secret recipe.

Song of the Day: Ryan Adams - The Rescue Blues. Ryan Adam's is really starting to grow on me. This is one off his new album 'Gold' that was released not too long ago. He was featured in CDNOW's greatest new songwriters feature they had up and had a Rolling Stone article written about him. Check it out.

Song of the Day:
1.) Ryan Adams - The Rescue Blues.

Morning all you party people..! Yo that's right, TRIED to get some sleep last night....but Joe and I were up late trying to beat Alien vs Predator 2. For all you chumps who thought the H-Dog would be living it up on a Sunday night..pshaw, right. Sitting on my ass, blowing up bugs and sipping on H-E-B brand Citrus Soda (with a pinch of Gin--yeahhh...). That's how I be living it up.

Mike! That crazy Wally Bastard. I knew there was a reason why he was going to school up in Colorado, yet I never knew...boy was building a beaver dam up there! Here's a recent email I got from Grizzly Adam's himself:

H-DAWG!
What's up man?! Nothing much here, just chilling like Jakob Dylan! I've been having a good time, doing the Dew, snowboarding and all those other Extreme Sport things. As you can tell, life is better than a garden hose and two lesbians (see attached photo)! I can't wait to see you guys back in Austin, but you know what they say: "When the business is good, the business keeps gooding-ier!" or "When it rains, it's a monsoon--in my pants!" or "You can take the man out of the jungle, but you can't take the jungle out of the man--or my pants!" Laters, keep it real! -Mike

Man. Whatever, right?

Song of the Day! I recommend that everybody download this one. It's off of The Faces 'A wink is as good as a nod...to a blind horse." album they did back in...I dunno, 1971 or something. Written by the late great Ronnie Lane, this is an awesome song. It even has that raspy voice, that sandpaper throat sounding Brit, Rod Stewart, crooning with Ron Wood's warm blues riff kerranging through the background. Hammond, Piano's and rock drums galore.

Song of the Day:
1.) The Faces - Love Lives Here.

For those of you interested, the lyrics:

It's hard to believe that this is the place
Where we were so happy all our lives.
Now so empty inside and feelin' no pain.
Waitin' for a hammer and a big ball and chain.

They can tear it all down and build something new,
Then only I'll remember what was here.
Tomorrow comes easy, just another day gone
How hong will I have to keep returning?

Now I look back, think I've known all the time,
I've been fightin' myself for so long.
All the vows that we made, gone for old rags and lumber
Disappear on a cart down the road

Games galore. I swung by POTG and Carrozzi Girl's place last night to go pick up Aliens vs Predator 2, Civilization III and Ghost Recon. I didn't get home till late last night, but I went ahead and played AVP2...and I was scared out of my mind. I was playing a Space Marine and let me tell you, when you're running around those space corridors with the lights flashing, hearing people scream and stuff, it's messed up. At one point I had to turn my flashlight off, took a turn down a hallway and then next thing I know it, there's this mass of teeth, claws and acidic drool all up in my face. I didn't have a chance. Bah, now I REALLY have to clean this place up..
