Lemme rant here for a sec. Did I ever mention those annoying people in the movie theater who have to express their opinions? I mean, sure they get one laugh from the bubbly couple in front of them who think "Heh. that's true. That's funny AND true." But the worse part of it all is, they KEEP DOING IT, but the laughter doesn't continue.

Case in point: The Bourne Identity. Emily and I went to go see this trite film, when they displayed a trailer for the movie SWIMFAN. The jackass behind us with the insightful comments on the movie business says: "It's funny, because it sucks!" and then snorts, while the two whitest people on God's white earth in front of him, start cracking up like they just saw Richard Pryor for the first time. Well anyways, throughout the movie, he makes about one or two LOUD comments about something in the film ( in the vein of "oh, YOU DUMBASS! HAR HAR") but anyways, the value of his standup routine is slowly fading away.

Yet, the jackass doesn't learn and ruins the film for the rest of us.

A variant of this was at Austin Powers : Goldmember last night. The only thing was, he would laugh roughly 2-3 seconds BEFORE the punchline hit or wouldn't stop laughing thereafter. I could hear his piercing, annoying giggle. Oh yeah, there was this freak who was dressed up as Austin Powers and his "roomate" was dressed up as Dr. Evil. I'm pretty sure their girlfriends approved of that, if they had one.

Goldmember. Went to go see the new Austin Powers last night. It was a pretty funny, i'd say ALOT funnier than the second one. I'd watch it again for that intro part. Pure comedic genius. Anyways, gonna probably redo the comic strip page so that it will include a "news" section as well as a Link Exchange section.

EMAIL SUCKS! Some people neglected to tell me the email system wasn't working all day yesterday and most of today. I just spent the last three hours trying to figure it out..and guess what, our email service provider neglected to tell me that they had upgraded their software!! BAH!

You know i'm all about v-a-l-u-e. Emily and Amy purchased a rousing little kitten yesterday who goes by the name of Ozzy. It's a cute thing but another darling thing about it is that it doesn't live in MY apartment. Haahaha, that's right, my curtains aren't scratched up, my pleather couch only has one tear in it--hold on a sec, I don't have any curtains. Wally took down my Ethan Allen Aluminum Foil Collection draperies, which wrere hanging on the dining room window (which is now his living 'nook'). But yeah, as much as I would like to entertain the idea of having kittens and puppies frolicking around my apartment, it's just not for me.

I already have two mongrels living with me (Meth and Wally), so anything more would be a Kennel club.

In other news, the main release date of Aug. 6th for the Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings DVD will NOT contain the extra 30 minutes of footage. The NOV. 12 release of the special editions will have them. Sucks.

The new Beth Orton album is coming out. How's that smokey voice? Fantastic. Haven't had a chance to listen to the entire album, but from what I hear, sounds pretty positive. Some of the tracks are a little thick with the electronica..but hey, she's British...aren't they all into that shite?

More tweaking to be done, man! I found out how to do the Fine Green Convergence Grid on the new HDTV, but alas, the top right and left are still slightly distorted. I had to mess with the Vertical/Horizontal width and position to fix them.

In other news, was driving home yesterday, whizzed pass a UPS truck and there, sticking out the driver's side door was one big hairy leg. You know how you usually put your hand outside your car window to "Feel the awesome might of the breeze"? Well I guess the UPS man was doing the same thing, or trying to piss out of his truck. Also, I'd like to take a moment and thanks to all my friends for helping out with the hosting this month, including THE FEVER (aka my little brother who stole my nickname), who cut me a whopping 50 dollar bank note. I guess for your birthday, i'll let you wax my car...hhehehehehehe--MUTHA!

The new comic strip is out! Sorry about the delay, we were a little behind schedule on this one. Check it out here. We did some last minute changes to better reflect the "Shawn" character who bears a striking resemblence to our real life friend "Shawn". The change is most notably reflected in the final panel. Enjoy!

What a sonuvabitch of a weekend. So anyways, my new HDTV was supposed to be shipped to me Friday afternoon. It was to be one of the most glorius days of my life--my Wedding Day! Instead, it turned into a prison movie where I was made someone's bitch. That friday, I take my car in early for a routine oil change when about an hour later I get a call telling me that i have a Radiator Leak...560 dollars to fix. This is the scene where three guys gang up on me in the laundry room, reading to ream me out. I say go ahead and do the repairs..i'll just have to hit the credit cards to pay for it. This casts a dark cloud of the entire day.

The delivery guys (which, by the way, were two of the nicest dudes around) dropped off the HDTV. The daunting task of cleaning up my living room and then redoing my entire home theater was also bumming me out. The pinnacle of my Home Theater collection, i'm talking 65 million years in the making, was here, but I could care less, because my g-ride was sitting in a money pit. The looming package of Ramen Noodles for the next month floated above my head.

But that's not it--The dealership calls me back and tells me: "Yeah, your condenser fan wasn't coming on, causing the radiator leak." Oh shit. "The good news is we won't charge you labor, just the part." So how much is the part? "About 280 bucks." Whoa, that's nearly 840 bucks? I get the lead pipe out and proceed to bludgeon my freaking head. "Sure." I say. This is the scene where I found out the Prison Warden is really running the seedy side of the prison and i'm nothing but a pawn in his sadistic game.

Anyways, thanks to Emily for calming me down and reassuring me. Thanks to everybody who gave me some positive things to think about (55" HDTV!), which include: Mike (Wally), Troy (POTG), John (The General), Joe (Meth), My Boss, Dave the Mexican from Work, Leandro at capnasty.org and of course: the wonderful Miss Emily, for whom my big screen TV gives a whopping headache...but baby, it's all worth it!

Some pics:

This crap hole was my old living room, where the ole' 27" Toshiba has been gutted.

Me, living it up. as you can see, the tags are still on the set. A result of the aging process.

A shot of the set, looking good.

A shot of the A/V rack with the Panasonic RP-62 Progressive Scan player and the Yamaha reciever.

To eliminate the red push on the set, I had to get some parts from Radioshack. This is a 75-Ohm bi-directional attenuator. Email me if you need directions (some adapter plugs needed).

The best seat in the house is from the pleather couch!
